OASIS, Chardonnay
Loma Verde Vineyard

The 2005 Oasis Chardonnay will be a great foil for our estate grown Top Cream Chardonnay. The Oasis section is in the Loma Verde Vineyard in the Los Alamos corridor of Santa Barbara County, and in fact, it can be seen from Highway 101. Oasis is basically the tips of some longer rows in a section of Chardonnay known to the grower as block 3C. The ends of these rows drop down from the main bench on to a little south east facing hillside. Guess what's under that hillside. Limestone!

Left: Limestone permeates the soil at the "Oasis" section of Loma Verde Vineyard North of Los Alamos.
Right: Bryan Babcock explains the unique qualities of the "terroir" at Loma Verde Vineyard to his tasting room staff.
Left: Beautiful 2007 Chardonnay grapes on the vine at "Oasis" the day before harvest. 2006 "Oasis" Chardonnay will be sent to Terroir Exclusives and Terroir Exclusives PLUS wine club members in October 2007.

In an area where upwellings of limestone are few and far between, there it sits, like an oasis. The wine, is remarkable.

2005 "Oasis" Chardonnay is SOLD OUT.
2006 "Oasis" Chardonnay is still available.
